Westat's research, technical, and administrative staff of more than 2,000 is located at our headquarters in Rockville, Maryland, near Washington, DC.
Westat is seeking a research assistant to work as part of a team on several projects in the areas of health, nutrition and employment. The projects include program evaluations as well as survey and data analysis studies.
·Conduct literature searches
·Support data collection activities including surveys, interviews, and site visits.
·Prepare data for analysis (both qualitative and quantitative).
·Conduct preliminary data analyses (using both quantitative software and statistical packages), graphically representing data findings.
·Assist in the writing of reports.
·A bachelor’s degree in the social sciences and 1 year of experience is required.
Experience with statistical software such as SAS is a strong plus. Qualified candidates must have strong computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills; organizational skills; the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously; be detail-oriented; and work well in a fast-paced team environment. Some travel may be needed.
